Zalina has over two decades of leadership and expertise in affordable housing management. Her experience spans multiple federal and state housing programs, including Section 8, Section 202/811, HOME, and LIHTC. Since joining Evergreen in 2017, Zalina has been instrumental in driving operational excellence and compliance, across a diverse portfolio of affordable communities.
Immediately prior to Evergreen, Zalina managed a portfolio of condominium properties, where she honed her skills in property operations, resident relations and worked effectively with Condo Boards to ensure governance and financial integrity. Her first major career role was with Catholic Charities, where she spent fourteen years providing strategic oversight for a large portfolio of affordable housing developments. During her tenure, she implemented compliance protocols for HUD Secure Systems, TRACS monitoring, EIV, led staff training initiatives, and served as the RealPage OneSite Coordinator, ensuring seamless technology integration and operational efficiency.
Zalina is an Accredited Real Estate Manager (ARM) through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and holds multiple affordable housing certifications from the National Center for Housing Management. She has completed Values Centered Leadership training through DePaul University, maintains an Illinois Leasing license, Illinois Community Association Manager license and actively volunteers in her community. Her commitment to excellence, compliance, and resident focused service, has made her a trusted leader in the affordable housing industry.
